"When the going gets tough, small business owners get going!"
Spencer Buell, Staff Writer at Boston Magazine published an article "What You Need to Know: A Small Business Crisis Manual."
In these improbable and nearly impossible times for small business owners, there are resources and help available. The U.S. economy needs our small businesses, which employ nearly 50% of of private workforce.
A few resources and suggestions:
- Search and apply for grants and loans. City/local, state, and federal options may be available for you and your business.
- Learn about the recently passed CARES Act and additional SBA loan programs.
- Local, City Directories - If you are open, partially open or offering services, make sure you're included in "businesses open" listings.
- Leverage your Social Media Platforms and Local Groups.
- Curbside Pick-up, Delivery - Provide "concierge" shopping services; emphasize health safety with spacing, gloves, etc.
- Engage with other local business owners - Share ideas, collaborate, brainstorm options to partner together.
- Connect with your City or County Office of Economic Development, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), etc.
